Wrightsville Beach
has been an affluent summer beach resort community for over a century. One of the two barrier islands on the Cape Fear Coast, many people who live in Wrightsville Beach work in the nearby city of Wilmington. Established in 1899, the island was once accessible only by water. Today it’s a popular destination for weekend getaways and annual vacations for generations of families who return year after year. Many own homes in Wrightsville Beach that have been in the family for generations. The community offers a variety of fine accommodations that range from full-service resorts and family motels to luxurious cottages and condominiums.
